Knobbly bits


The peeling bark and abundant knobbly bits found on Birch trees makes drawing them a lot of fun.

Wow. The term "sketch" hardly describes this... the precision of detail reminds me of Sheeler's Feline Felicity.

I wouldn't class these as careful studies as they are not accurate reproductions of what I see. I guess they're more like controlled scribbling or a personal take on the subject.
