I love how, with houses like this, the mud/plaster concoction used to cover the bare bricks of the walls is also almost always used to create an entry surface infront of the door. It's like they make a batch for the walls, and then whatever is left goes towards the makeshift ally/pathway to create awesome patchwork textures to walk on.
The clayish substance the house is made of seems exactly the same as the ground... almost as if the entire thing is really a very detailed miniature.
